We represent you!

It's been one year since the Science Party endorsed a formal NSW state branch!

The Science Party NSW provides a political voice at the local and state levels for residents of New South Wales. We represent everyone who thinks governments should be transparent and accountable, and that the aim of government should be to use data-driven policy to achieve strong communities and a strong economy. We're optimistic about the future and see technology as a tool that can be used to improve our quality of life.

We recognise that diversity in the decision-making body strengthens the decision-making process. Different backgrounds lead to different experiences and to different perspectives on solving the problem at hand.

Today we introduce our equal opportunity statement:

We appeal for representation of all sectors of society at all levels of government. Within our organisation we aim for proportionate representation—in areas including sex and gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnic background, disability status, age and religious affiliation—among our candidates, executive and officebearers. We welcome members of all backgrounds and identities.

In its first year, the NSW branch has increased the number of women in Science Party leadership roles and participating in meetings. We've suported the formation of the Science Party Women group, which hosts online discussion and organises casual dinners.

We look forward to continuing the trend of encouraging greater participation of underrepresented groups in politics.

If you would like to get involved, come along to our next meeting or send us an email at [email protected].

The Science Party is staffed entirely by volunteers. We don't take money from corporations, only from people like you. If you want to help us bring truth and honesty back into politics please consider a tax deductible donation today.
